Students from all three schools were there at our taster workshops- have a look at the school’s website. Class 4 and more
Well we’ve done a taster session in Pershore and the students were fantastic. Here’s just a small sampling for the great alternative lyrics they made up for ‘What shall we do with the drunken sailor?’ Throw him to the sharks and let them eat him Chuck him overboard with an anchor on him Put him in the sail and leave him up there Dunk his head in the foamy water Tickle his ribs until he’s sober Put him in a barrel and roll him over Put him in space until he dies Stuff him in a cannon and blast him over… Well done young folks and budding songwriters- you did us proud! For a bit of fun see our sailor Also hats off to fab Singup who provided audio tracks to a tune students really enjoy. AAArgh matey!
Well, I had the most relaxing holiday camping in Wales, no phone, email etc, and might I say, it’s very lovely to be back too! Things are really exciting here at Lady G towers, we’ve been planning our project in Wychavon, getting to know our new cellist, Hetti (who will no doubt introduce herself soon) and looking forward to the autumn and all it brings! We had a meeting to discuss our video a few days ago and can’t wait to get going on it- we’re already well into the new recording…watch this space!
Well, we are just on a roll here. We are booked to play in Upton on Severn for their music club on 16 May 2009. Hurray for our enlightened promoters. It’s a nice venue- the Upton on Severn Memorial Hall. I remember about one July ago, people jokingly called it Severn-upon-Upton (after the floods) but let me assure you the night I spent at a pub in Cropthorne was not funny at all (thinking my car might be washed away along with the plumbing of the pub!)! The first to ring (besides my spouse of course) to ask how I was doing was Allegra [a.k.a. Abi]- and I won’t forget that. I salute the spirit of all the Worcestershire and Gloucestershire folks (and those up north) who pitched in and helped each other. You wouldn’t know anything had flooded and everything is back in operation- so support them. Click here.
