I’ve just bought the September issue of vogue magazine (even though it’s barely August), flicked through, and what should I find, but an article about Lady Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire! There are some lovely costume shots, and the article is focused on the high society 18th century ladies using fashion as a means of expression. I’m very much looking forward to seeing the film, and I also fancy a visit to Chatsworth (her husband’s estate) as there is an exhibition which will coincide with the release of the film, and feature some of the costumes used. The estate even has a blog!
Hurray- we had a school applying to Wychavon District Council to employ us as workshop leaders and the bid was successful. It will be a lot of fun developing this project and we hope it will strengthen our own bid to the Arts Council for some support. Also we’ve now been featured in ‘artsworks’ which is published by Wychavon Arts Officer, Jenny Davis. See summer 2008′s back page! For an action shot of us at Evesham’s Arts4All, click here.
Yes, I know, nothing to do with 18th century music (well, not much) But I couldn’t resist. And a bit of the story is set in the 18th century! The nice bit…with the big dresses….
